# 10 Minute Brief Prompt

Use this when you want AI to help with one real piece of work, not a vague idea.

Copy the prompt below, fill in the brackets, and give the AI enough context to work with.

```text
I want to use AI to help me with one real piece of work.
The work is: [describe the task in one sentence]
The audience is: [who will read or use the output]
The context is: [what has happened, what matters, and what constraints apply]
The output I need is: [format, length, tone, and level of detail]
Before you answer, ask me up to three clarifying questions.
Then give me:
1. A useful first draft
2. The assumptions you made
3. The risks or gaps I should check
4. A stronger version of the brief I could use next time
```

## Example Starting Points

- Turn rough meeting notes into clear actions and decisions.
- Draft a customer update after a disruption.
- Prepare for a board or management meeting.
- Summarise a policy change for staff.
- Create a weekly leadership brief from scattered updates.

## The Better Brief Rule

Give AI the role, context, audience, output, and constraints.

If the answer is too generic, the brief probably needs more context.
